Our Story

Set in the historic Coe House overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee, The Taphouse offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience in Center Harbor. Our 19th-century landmark, once frequented by presidents and poets, now welcomes guests to enjoy elevated comfort food, craft beer, fine wine, and handcrafted cocktails.

With cozy dining rooms, two full bars, and a lively three-season biergarten, The Taphouse is designed for both everyday gatherings and special celebrations.

The Taphouse is the vision of Sam Schwartz, a New England native and seasoned hospitality leader, whose passion for great beer, food, and community has led him back to the Lake where he summered with family growing up. His career spans some of the country’s leading craft beer destinations, including Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., and New Orleans.

After reopening several popular restaurants post-pandemic, he returned to New England to create a gathering place that blends expert hospitality with a true sense of home.
